Tracks of the week
You also think Brit awards 2016 was the worst f****** shit ever to hit the music scene? The fact that Adele swept the board with 4 awards meanwhile the likes of Skepta or JME didn’t even receive a nomination… just shows how this world works. Instead of just focusing on shitty awards, I will just go straight to our tracks of the week, the good ones.
Emmo: Ital Tek – Redeemer
First featured on Mary Anne Hobbs’ Radio 6 show, track comes from Ital Tek taken from the forthcoming album ‘Hollowed’. To be released on Planet Mu on the 18th of March.
Emmo chose another track as he couldn’t decide: CASISDEAD ‘Simon’
Right to the knuckle, CAS always talks about tackling drugs, sexual violence and the darkest elements of life. In this track he displays a story of ‘Simon’, troubled addict who goes on a journey of being homeless, imprisoned and ends up in the hospital. Story telling taken to another level.
Jake: Shu & Otz – Wise Up
Shu and Otz is a German based combo, heavily infulenced by Fabriclive 37 from Rusko and Caspa. This one is deep!
Oisin: Commodo feat Rocks FOE – Set It Straight (Black Acre)
Commodo from Sheffield teams up with Cyoydon’s Rocks FOE on this one. 140bpm based with heavy vocals.
Piotr: A$AP Twelvyy – “L.Y.B.B. (Resolution)”
Brand new from ASAP Twelvyy to start the year off, his opening line “C’est la dernière année que je suis en galère” translates to “This my last year being broke”. He refuses to be ignored as he has big ambitions.
Ross: Asa & Sorrow – Untitled
Track straight off Joker’s KAPSIZE label. Samples straight out of Flukes’ Wifey Riddim.
Max: Pinch ft. Riko Dan – Screamer
Pinch continues his ‘collab’ run from last year as he teams up with Riko Dan on this one.
