Compa New Releases

So if you don’t know yet. Manchester based producer Compa has been on fire recently with the unbelievable recent release of “Dem A Talk” Refix on the limited white label and he has recently announced his next two releases forthcoming on Area Recordings.

The tracks “Security” and “Cold Weather” will unfortunately not see a release until some time in May but it is definitely something to look forward to. The two tracks show Compa is completely in a league of his own. His focus on the original sounds of Dubstep also gives hope that not everyone has gone by the wayside and there are still people pushing good music with plenty of Vinyl releases.

To put it quite simply 2012 is going to be Compa’s year.

Gatekeeper’s take on Dubstep quite personally is the way I always wished the sound to go. Since hearing “Let Go” and “Past Tense” on “Punch Drunk” back in 2007 the sound was atmospheric yet heavily bass influenced. This new release really speaks for itself. The A side’s “Atmosphere Processor” starts off with huge organ sounds, heavily compressed kicks and shrieking…

I spent most of yesterday listening to Brainfeeder’s electronic celeb on the rise, Lapalux and the podcast he dropped for XLR8R. He provided a great mix of jamz from faves like J Dilla and Holy Other to Jon Phonics and Matthewdavid, but one track (besides the Lapalux tracks themselves) stuck out in particular. Hazy Memories 1. I Got You Smack…
